A group of related eye disorders that cause damage to the optic nerve that carries information from the eye to the brain is known as Glaucoma.Glaucoma is considered as dangerous because in its early stages it has no symptoms. Many people are not able to realise that the have glaucoma disorders and by the time they notice problems with your sight, the disease has progressed to the point that irreversible vision loss has already occurred and additional loss becomes difficult to stop.In most cases, glaucoma occurs because of the higher than normal pressure inside the eye which is called ocular hypertension. It also can occur when intraocular pressure (IOP) is normal. If treatment is not given on time, glaucoma first causes peripheral vision loss and eventually can lead to blindness.
