Pilonidal Cystectomy

Pilonidal cysts are sacs contained with hair and skin debris that compose the top of the crease of the buttocks above the sacrum. A painful cyst can grow if the cyst and the overlying skin become infected.Pilonidal cysts are resulted by the hairs and debris which holds or get stucks in the pores of the skin in the upper cleft of the buttock structuring an abscess.Risk factors for pilonidal cysts include being male, being overweight, having thick body hair, sedentary, family history and previous pilonidal cysts.

Symptoms of pilonidal cysts

1. fever

2. pain

3. redness

4. swelling

5. if the abscess ruptures, there may be discharge of blood or pus.
